Welcome to my page! I am a recent graduate of The University of Alabama. I graduated cum laude in Dec. 2015 with a dual degree (Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration, majoring in management from the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Information Sciences with a major in public relations from the College of Communication and Information Sciences).
I’ve worked with some of the largest brands in sports including the New York Yankees, The Madison Square Garden Company, The University of Alabama, ESPN and The National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum.
My aspirations include a career in sports/entertainment public relations and marketing. I have a strong passion for the sports field, and I believe that a firm grasp on new and social media is paramount moving forward with a career in public relations.
I like to think sports media is in my blood. My grandfather covered sports in the state of Alabama for over 60 years as a Birmingham sports editor (You can read a story I wrote about him here). My aunt was the first female sportswriter allowed to enter the locker rooms following an Alabama football game, and was the first female member of the Alabama Sports Writers Association. I grew up hearing stories about Alabama’s famed Coach, Paul “Bear” Bryant, and players like Joe Namath and Kenny Stabler.
After going with my grandfather to games, I was hooked on the fever that only athletics offers.
With over 1,000 hours logged in the live sports event field, my skills and experiences have been finely tuned to handle many situations in the industry. I have worked large-scale events such as the 2016 Heisman Trophy weekend, 2013 NCAA Men’s Final Four, NCAA bowl games, countless Southeastern Conference events and a wide range of Alabama home athletic events.
On this website, I will highlight several of my accomplishments and showcase some of my writing samples.
Enough about me talking about me. See what the Marietta Daily Journal had to say about my internship at the Baseball Hall of Fame here, or read an excerpt from my high school’s bi-annual magazine that profiled me here.
